Today I was reading about the Xel’Naga, which Blizzard has said will be an epic part of the Starcraft 2 storyline. I wanted to share a little about what they are and their role in the Starcraft universe.
The Xel’Naga are a mysterious ancient race. No one knows what they look like. They have never been seen in game, only their relics and some of their history. The Xel’Naga are known to have manipulated the evolution of both the Zerg and Protoss races with their goal of creating a perfect life form, are are said to have cultivated thousands of other species in the same way in other galaxies.
In their evolutionary experiment with the Protoss, they achieved the highest level of psionic power of any other species before. When they revealed to the Protoss that they were actually one of their experiments, the Protoss of course attacked them, because who wants to be an experiment? Then the Zerg found out too and attacked the Xel, destroying most of them.
I hope we get to see what the Xel’Naga look like in SC2! I bet they will look like giant green antelopes, or maybe like floating heads. Who knows.
